Amy Burns Merenda

I am a Licensed Educational Psychologist!

I am a proud alumnus of the University of the Pacific with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2014), Master of Arts in Education (2015), Educational Specialist in Educational Psychology (2018), and Doctorate of Education (2018). I have been a school psychologist in public schools for 5 years and have a personal connection to advocating for children in the school system.

I firmly believe that the only way to support a person’s areas of need is to truly understand their strengths. We all have something to offer the world - every adult and child alike - and educational teams and systems should be working to highlight those unique strengths. Together, my professional and personal experiences make me a passionate, positive, and uplifting voice for your child!

What does it mean to be neurodiversity affirming?

My Philosophy

Mission

I believe that all people have value to bring to the world. Only by having a thorough understanding of a person’s strengths can we successfully uplift their areas of need. It is my goal to support all students with a strength-based lens to ensure appropriate and necessary support is provided in the home and school settings to help all children experience happiness and contentment in their lives.

Values

  • I value neurodiversity.

  • I value autonomy.

  • I value growth.

  • I value strengths in conjunction with weaknesses.

  • I value kindness.

  • I value empathy.

  • I value an understanding of all.
